Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born
August 26, 2002. He is also known as Lil Tecca. The release of
"Ransom," his 2019 single, helped him to become a mainstream star.
His mixtape debut We Love You Tecca (2019) included the track. It peaked at #4
on the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also included the singles "Love
Me", "Did It Again" and "Did It Again". His first
studio album, Virgo World (2020), debuted at number 10 on the Billboard 200 and
included the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping songs "Dolly" and
"When You Down". The second mixtape, We Love You Tecca 2, was
released in the month of August 2021. It included "Repeat It" and
"Lot of Me". Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born on the 26th of
August, 2002 in the Queens neighborhood in New York City to Jamaican
immigrants. Sharpe was born in Queens' Springfield Gardens, after which he
moved to Cedarhurst on Long Island. Sharpe has always dreamed of being able to
make it into the NBA when he was a kid but at the age of 12, Sharpe made the
decision to pursue a profession in music. Sharpe graduated from Lawrence High
School. When Tecca was just nine years old, Tecca acquiesced to his passion for
music through rapping with friends over his mic on his Xbox. They would create
diss tracks directed at each other and one was posted to SoundCloud some time
ago, but has since been taken down. At the beginning, he did not have
intentions to start an artistic career, but had dreams of being an NBA
superstar. As he entered middle school however, he began to lose interest in basketball
and began to take music seriously. The first track that gained some attention,
"Tectri", was composed by him and his friend, Lil Gummybear, and came
out in early 2017. Other tracks by Tecca comprise "Callin" as well as
"Tectri". The hit song of his "Ransom," which was first
uploaded to Cole Bennett's Lyrical lemonade YouTube channel on May 22nd in
2019, started Tecca's meteoric rise. The song reached the top spot at 4 on the
Billboard Hot 100 chart and has had over 990 million views on Spotify and more
than 300 million views on YouTube.
